Ginny-Ann Oh on the fallout from the PropertyLimBrothers saga and what it means for Singapore’s property industry

Singapore, 31 January 2026 – Ginny-Ann Oh, Director at APRW and Master Trainer at Knowledge Studio by APRW, offers her perspective on the fallout from the recent PropertyLimBrothers (PLB) controversy and its wider implications for Singapore’s property agent sector.

The PLB saga resurfaced long-standing concerns around ethics, transparency and trust within the industry. Especially with the industry’s personality-driven marketing and close client-agent relationships, “It is natural for consumers to have high expectations of the agent’s reliability and integrity.”

Ginny emphasises that while the rise of “influencer-agents” can help build trust by making property content accessible and engaging, it also heightens public scrutiny when personal issues arise.

In a trust-based, high-stakes sector such as real estate, individual actions, particularly from highly visible leaders, can have an outsized impact on public perception of the entire profession. Ginny adds that reputational impact in this type of industry often lingers long after the initial controversy, leading to clients becoming more cautious and making it more challenging for firms and agents to rebuild confidence.
