Benjamin Lee Featured on Money FM 89.3’s Let’s Talk Singapore

Singapore, 15 June 2026 – Associate Director Benjamin ‘Miyagi’ Lee, most fondly known as Mr Miyagi, has spent two decades telling Singapore’s stories: as a blogger, comic book author, playwright, comedy writer, and one of the country’s earliest social media pioneers. Recently featured as a special guest host on Money FM 89.3’s morning programme, Let’s Talk Singapore, Ben first took the hot seat to answer questions about himself before bringing his signature wit and sharp insights to discussions on issues affecting Singaporeans alongside host Neil Humphreys.

In the Ask Benjamin segment, Ben shared how a lifelong habit of documenting his daily life evolved into a passion for blogging. What began as a personal pastime has grown into a platform that captures the voice and experiences of everyday Singaporeans. He also offered insights into his work as a comedy writer, discussing how he navigates censorship, social sensitivities, and creative boundaries while staying authentic. Drawing on his experience in the media industry, Ben reflected on the different considerations involved when working with government agencies and commercial organisations.

During Breakfast Bites, Ben weighed in on the perennial debate surrounding National Service (NS), exploring both its duration and continued relevance in modern Singapore. Reflecting his book My Time (NS40) and his own NS journey, Ben shared how the experience gave him more than just two years of service; it provided a lifelong community, shared purpose and enduring friendships that continue to shape his life today.

The programme wrapped up with Talk of the Town, where Ben joined fellow guests William Haandrikman, Managing Director of Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford, and Crystal Low, CEO of Boon Teck, for a lively discussion on Singapore’s food resilience efforts. Together, they explored the challenges of strengthening local food production and the innovative strategies being pursued to build a more sustainable and secure food future.
