  • APRW is the sole communications partner onboard for KUMPUL X Accelerator program
  • APRW shared its expertise on the importance of starting and creating communication initiatives for early stage startups in Indonesia

Jakarta, 19 October 2021 – Singapore-basedAPRW (Asia PR Werkz), one of the earliest and largest integrated communications agencies with a representative office in Indonesia, today announced their partnership with KUMPUL, one of Indonesia’s largest entrepreneurial and startup builders. As a kickstart to this partnership, APRW participated in KUMPUL X Accelerator, a program to support the startup companies in Indonesia. The program is aimed to grow through strategic partnerships with the aim to provide the startups and Founders with more access to industry at large. As part of the ongoing program, APRW conducted a workshop for startups on the importance of starting and creating communication initiatives for early stage startups in Indonesia.

The current cohort of KUMPUL X Accelerator program is being conducted from September 2021, and will conclude inNovember 2021. The participants of the program are being provided with useful insights and networks to enhance their business and operations. Some of the activities include the curation process, discussion with mentors, speakers, and partners, as well as some lecture sessions by the partners.

APRW, as the sole communications partner, participated in one of the lecture sessions that was conducted on 18 October 2021. Through the session, APRW provided its expertise on the startup landscape in the communications industry. The participants were provided with insights on how and when early-stage startups should engage in building a brand.

APRW set up its startup practice in 2017 and represents a range of startups across various sectors such as fintech, travel, food tech and retail tech among others. Over the years the firm has witnessed the incredible growth of various startups, breaking into Southeast Asian markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and more. Some of the clients we currently represent include RedDoorz, Trip.com Group, FOMO Pay, The Chope Group, OneConnect Financial Technology and several more.

Commenting on the partnership, Anu Gupta, Director of APRW, said, “We are thankful to partners like Enterprise Singapore, who bridge the gap and bring us all together across geographies. Indonesia’s startup landscape is vibrant and robust and we have witnessed the growth of fast growing companies. As an early entrant into the startup ecosystem ourselves, we see immense value in such partnerships and in being able to give back and nurture the early stage startups.”

“The communications initiatives are crucial for every company, but sometimes it might be confusing and difficult for an early-stage/ startup company to take the first step. APRW, as an experienced agency in the startup and technology sector, is ready to help all of the companies to unlock their full potential through strategic communications activities.” Anu added.

Faye Wongso, CEO & Co-Founder Kumpul, said, “There’s a missing middle in Indonesia’s startup ecosystem where early stage startups are expected to survive and grow towards a more mature stage. However, early-stage startups normally rely mostly on the skills of their own co-founders, which in most cases are quite limited in particular fields. Through KUMPUL-X, we provide not only expert mentoring from relevant fields but also strategic partnerships and opportunity to have concrete meaningful relationships with KUMPUL’s partners”
