Singapore, 24 April 2026 – Anu Gupta, Director of APRW, contributed an opinion piece to tabla!, reflecting on entrepreneurship as a way of building a life rife with change at every stage, rather than just a business.
From her first venture in Dubai, built through friendship and risk, to starting her practice in Singapore with APRW, entrepreneurship has given her flexibility, resilience, and the courage to face failure – lessons which she hopes her children will learn from her example.
Joining APRW marked a new phase, where collaborative leadership, normalized female leadership, and collective support wrought a different kind of strength within her. She reflected on how amidst constant industry chatter about women in leadership being something to still work towards, it was second nature at APRW, which has been women-led for years.
Anu also shared that after spending more than half her working life in Singapore, she has learnt that home can exist in two places, and that it enabled her to grow and take on new challenges.
She reflected that her instinctive decision at 40 to start anew came at the right time, and her experience empowered her to step into new markets like Indonesia. Failing and trying again has formed a big part of her journey.
Anu concluded by sharing that her biggest successes were centred around the relationships nurtured with her family and friends, and that entrepreneurship has given her a full meaningful life at work and beyond.
